In a world where we are constantly overstimulated and pulled in ninety different directions, it can be easy to lose focus on our goals, become distracted, or overwhelmed. How do we re-focus and clarify our priorities, then?

Overview

Clarifying priorities breaks down into four parts:

  1. Define who and what;

  2. Layout your tasks;

  3. Audit your time and delegate tasks;

  4. Take a closer look at your to-do list.

Let’s dive in!

1.) Define who and what

Before we jump into the meat of this, we need to take a few steps back and start with some big questions. These questions might scare you, but they are critical to define and answer.

And let's be honest, how many times have I mentioned leaning into fear before? Answering these questions for yourself will allow for clarity and direction, which will help to apply purpose behind your actions.

All of this is fuel — fuel that allows you to run a marathon of purpose, rather than just check boxes. It also allows you to set to-do’s accordingly because you’ve set a foundation for your skyscraper, so to speak.
